Abstract

In the field of health, AI has great potential for both disease diagnosis and early detection. The emergence of AI reinforces the implementation of the personalised medicine model, which takes the genome into account and can be a valuable tool for medical decision support. In addition, the variety of digital devices and the tools of the internet of things facilitate new models of relationship between professionals and patients that offer the possibility of monitoring and assisting patients remotely.

Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 13 June 2024 laying down harmonised rules on artificial intelligence and the European Health Data Space are the legal instruments to combat the weaknesses of the algorithm and, in turn, to facilitate the deployment of AI in healthcare.
