These «notes» document the author’s participation in a training day for judges on «Artificial Intelligence and Judicial Decision-Making». While each «note» has its own title and seeks to convey a distinct meaning, collectively they aim to explain two key points: first, how the emergence of AI fundamentally alters the traditional challenges associated with the application of law; and second, why the development of judicial AI will necessitate a comprehensive reevaluation of the prevailing understanding of judicial precedents within legal systems that belong to a Civil Law tradition.
