Abstract

The present study aims to analyze some of the principles established in the European Declaration of Digital Rights and Principles. Initially, the genesis and evolution of the Declaration will be addressed, and through an analytical methodology that moves from the general to the particular, the specific principles contained in it will be explored, as well as their relationship with European values and the rights they embody.

Furthermore, the implementation of these principles in predominantly international and supranational norms, as well as in public policies, will be analyzed. To this end, this work is structured on several levels: initially, the general principles in the Declaration are studied; subsequently, we focus on those principles specifically related to Artificial Intelligence; and finally, we analyze how these principles are applied and affect the development and regulation of Artificial Intelligence through their implementation in different norms, highlighting their relevance in the contemporary digital context and their potential impact on shaping future technological policies in Europe.
